This is a masterpiece made by blending specially brewed unblended sake and aging it for a long time in American oak sherry barrels.
There is an anecdote that after brewing more than 20 years ago, the rules changed and the upper limit of alcohol content for sake was set at 22%, so it was treated as a liqueur.
It goes well with European and Chinese cuisine, but it's also the perfect drink to pair with cheese or dessert at the end of a meal. It is an attractive after-dinner drink that has the flavor of Japanese sake, which is not found in distilled spirits such as whisky.
